Weekly Master's Message

Greetings Brothers - well another meeting has come and gone with a great evening of fraternal friendship and ? We started the night with a fine meal of corn chowder, Tuscan bean and pulled pork sandwiches prepared by Brothers SW Rob Eubanks, SS Derek Jette, and JS Bob Donahue.

In Masonic spirit I decided earlier in the day that we would donate all the proceeds from the dinner to a Brother Past Master in Rhode Island who, with his wife tragically lost all of their belongings in a fire in their home. His wife is still in the hospital with severe burns. We will be sending them $255.00 to help them get back on their feet. I want to thank the Brothers for their generosity in helping a Brother in need.

We then proceeded upstairs and with Brother SW Cary Bentley presiding in the east, the FC degree was conferred on two brothers. Cary did an excellent job with the ritual work, as did all the Brothers who participated in the work of the evening.

On a different note, the deadline is drawing near for the Ladies At Table on February 18th. I've received many reservations, but still have some room. If interested you can send me an email or give me a call 860-634-3700. We always have a great time and I sure you will too.

2008 June Quarterly

The June Quarterly was a very special event. In 2007 RW John S. Rhoads had been selected to recieve the DeMolay Legion of Honor. Because the Lodge was so BUSY, however, we never found time to schedule his investiture. Finally we were able to do so for our June Quareterly in 2008. To make the event just a little more special, the Lodge also invited the State Chapter of DeMolay to come and perform the DeMolay degree and introduce many of our new members to the work done by these young men.

We scheduled the event so that the DeMolay degree would be conferred in the morning, and the Legion of Honor in the afternoon, after lunch.

Despite the warmth of the day, the DeMolays came inwearing tuxedos and put on a great rendition of the DeMolay degree.

DeMolays from all over Connecticut came to our little corner just for this.

State Master Councillor Chris and his team did an outstanding job. Thank you all!

Following lunch it was time for the main event - the Legion of Honor Investiture!

With the State Chapter Officers occupying their respective stations, the suite of State Executive Officer Harry E. Needham, III was recieved.

DeMolay Legon of Honor recipient and MWPGM of the State of CT, George S. Greytak (right) conducted RW Johnto the East.

Legionairre Ed Lawson invoked the blessings of God as the suite Chaplain.

RW John was placed at the altar where he took upon hinslef the public obligation of a Legionairre.

Legionairre and MWPGM Joseph J. Howard (right) - also an honorary member of Putnam Lodge #46 - and Legionairre and RW PDD Carl G. Ek took part in the ceremonies, as well.

Legionairre RW Carl presented John with Legion of Honor signet.

Legionairre and MWGPM George presented RW John with his red Cordon.

And finally, Legionairre and State Executive Officer Harry knighted RW John, completing the ceremonies.
